About Me.
Welcome to my professional portfolio, where I showcase the highlights of my career as a volunteer in the field of veterinary medicine. Since childhood, I have felt a calling for change and a desire to help those without a voice. My passion has led me to collaborate with various non-profit organizations. I am dedicated to the well-being of animals, their protection, and education for a better future.
How I Started.
My interest in veterinary medicine ignited at a young age. During my university years, I embarked on an Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology. However, as my passion grew, I transitioned to a Bachelor's degree in Biology, realizing my aspiration to become a veterinary doctor. Despite previously accumulating volunteer hours in clinics, I sought to enhance my experience. The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic temporarily halted my pursuit of volunteer opportunities until 2021.
In 2021, I came across a post on Veterinarians for Puerto Rico's Instagram, inviting volunteers to join. I reached out to the Movement for Social Animal Welfare, and this connection led me to volunteer for my first Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) event at Blanco Veterinary Hospital in February 2021. Since then, I have actively participated in various activities organized by the group, consistently refining my skills and expanding my knowledge across different facets of veterinary medicine.
Work Experience.
I am currently employed at Animal Emergency Clinic, where I serve as a veterinary assistant, providing support in emergency situations, participating in medical procedures, and ensuring the well-being of animals. Additionally, I hold a position at the Preventive Veterinary Medicine Clinic as a tech, contributing to the implementation of preventive measures to promote the ongoing health and care of animals. Simultaneously, I am actively involved with Luna Vet Help, an organization dedicated to veterinary assistance, contributing to events and programs aimed at promoting animal welfare.
My current work experience reflects my dedication to veterinary medicine, encompassing emergency care, preventive measures, and active involvement in community initiatives for the well-being of animals.
